Dress Code
Our dress code is designed to help students stay focused, feel safe, and present themselves with confidence. The goal is not to punish students but to create a positive learning environment where distractions are minimized and scholars are ready to learn.
Below is an overview of the school’s dress code expectations:
General Expectations
Students must come to school in clothing that is:
-
Appropriate for learning
-
Safe and comfortable
-
Free from distractions, offensive images, or inappropriate wording
Clothing should allow students to participate fully in class, labs, PE, and other activities.
What Students May Wear
-
Shirts, blouses, or tops that fully cover the chest, midsection, and undergarments
-
Pants, jeans, skirts, or shorts that fit at the waist
-
Closed-toe shoes (for safety in hallways, stairs, and labs)
-
School-approved spirit wear on designated days
What Students May Not Wear
-
Clothing that reveals undergarments
-
See-through, low-cut, or cropped tops
-
Pajamas, blankets, or sleepwear
-
Clothing containing profanity, drug/alcohol references, or inappropriate imagery
-
Items that may be unsafe (slides in labs/PE, chains, etc.)
Headwear
-
Hats, hoods, and bandanas are not allowed inside the building
(Exceptions apply for religious or medical reasons.) -
Scarves or headwraps worn for cultural or religious identity are welcome.
Consequences for Dress Code Violations
If a student is out of dress code:
-
First step: The student will be asked to correct the issue (jacket, loaner item, etc.)
-
If the issue continues: A parent/guardian may be contacted
-
Repeated violations: May lead to administrative action
Our goal is always correction—not punishment.

Fewer classroom distractions
