The CSKYWLA Counseling Department is here to support every part of your child's growth, from their schoolwork, emotions, social skills, and plans for the future. We work with both middle and high school students to make sure they have what they need to learn, feel confident, and stay on the right path.

Our counselors partner with students, families, teachers, and community members to provide help that fits each student’s unique needs. We want every young woman at CSKYWLA to feel supported, valued, and prepared for success in school, college, career, and life.

Our goal is for all students to develop strong communication skills, healthy self-esteem, and a positive mindset. We want them to understand themselves, work well with others, and become leaders in their communities and in the world.

Through one-on-one meetings, group sessions, classroom lessons, and school programs, our counseling team works every day to help our scholars grow, stay focused, and reach their full potential.

The High School Counseling Team at CSKYWLA supports students as they prepare for graduation and life after high school. Counselors help students stay on track with their academic requirements, choose the right courses, and understand what they need to graduate from Atlanta Public Schools. They also guide students through important steps, such as college and career planning, SAT/ACT testing, scholarship applications, and the development of life skills that lead to success.

High school counselors work closely with students, families, and teachers to make sure every scholar has the support she needs academically, socially, and emotionally. Whether a student is planning for college, career training, military service, or entering the workforce, our counselors are here to provide guidance, encouragement, and the resources needed to make the best choices for her future.

Middle school is a time of big changes: physical, emotional, social, and academic. Students are growing quickly, discovering who they are, and learning how to handle new responsibilities. They may become more focused on friendships, more sensitive to others' opinions, and more curious about the world around them. Because of all these changes, middle schoolers need strong support both at home and at school.

Our middle school counseling program is designed to guide students through these important years with care and structure. Our counselor works with students, teachers, and families to help young adolescents stay on track, build confidence, and develop the skills they need to be successful now and in the future.

Paying for college can feel overwhelming, but your child does not have to do it alone. There are many scholarships available that can help students pay for college based on their grades, talents, interests, financial need, or community involvement. Some scholarships come from colleges, some from local groups, and others from national organizations.

Our counseling team has collected a list of helpful scholarship programs and websites for students and families. These resources can help your child find money for college and reduce the cost of their education. We encourage students—especially juniors and seniors—to check the scholarship list often and apply to as many as possible.
