Advanced Placement
Advanced Placement (AP) Program Overview
Our Advanced Placement (AP) program empowers academically prepared and motivated students to engage in college-level coursework while still in high school. Through AP, students have the opportunity to challenge themselves with rigorous classes that build critical thinking, strengthen academic skills, and open doors to future college and career pathways.
The College Board designs AP courses to mirror introductory college classes, providing students with a deeper level of content mastery and academic engagement. Once a year, the College Board administers a national AP Exam to students at the end of each course, allowing them to demonstrate their learning.
Why Choose AP?
Participating in Advanced Placement provides several significant benefits:
Stand out on college applications
AP courses demonstrate a student’s commitment to academic excellence and willingness to take on the most challenging courses available. A strong performance on AP Exams demonstrates to colleges that students are truly ready for university-level work.
Earn college credit or advanced placement
Many colleges and universities across the United States and in more than 100 countries worldwide offer credit, Advanced Placement (AP) credit, or both for qualifying scores on the AP Exam. This can reduce the cost of college, allow students to skip introductory courses, and help them graduate earlier.
At CSKYWLA, we believe in providing our scholars with opportunities that accelerate their learning, build confidence, and prepare them for success beyond high school. The AP Program is one of the many ways we support students in reaching their highest potential.
